I used to work for energy companies in the South. Must be installed for free. While certainly more expensive. I used to work in credit control and understand why some people may have problems, and prefer a prepayment meter. However, there are good forms of payment. Most companies offer a payment card, which are used in the same places where you can change your password again to recharge. You can pay for the creation of a payment plan in the week, for example. The best way to get it immediately upon receipt of a bill that will do more time until the next bill is due (usually every three months). But do not forget to ask if the invoice and in your account. At the same time, they can also guarantee a new counter to, they are not worse than, or (still) insufficient.

You're crazy. You'll find much more a pre-paid meters and pay hundreds to pay to remove it.

Pay monthly by standing order / direct debit and save a little higher than you think it should be.

The regular reading of the meter and adjust your standing order, do not stop when necessary, because a lot of money at the end of the year.

Think consider the fact that you use more energy in winter.

I have had meters installed free of charge, is good, so I know I'm being a pain, but if you go and closed the store was not shut off electricity between certain hours of the night.
I am with British Gas, now the strength of Scotland frightening. It seems that BG did not examine costs for the timers, but to be honest! They are free to adapt, May, but a small fee each time the credit meter x

Jellebene is spot on. Please do a prepayment meter, which are 50-70% more expensive. Of course, you will not put up with a large bill, as proposed, via the direct debit, so keep an eye on the readings.
My friend has a deposit, it spends at least 30 pounds per week (!!!) gas and electricity, my direct debit is combined £ 50 per month for my gas-Elec
